Make plans now to include the 2012 Cheeseburger and Fun event to your Summer plans!

The 2012 Cheeseburger and Fun event will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Bunker Hill Historic Area at Kennekuk Cove County Park near Danville.  The event will include again this year, the Howl at the Moon 8 Hour Run/Walk and the 4th Annual Bunker Hill Run Huge Auto, Truck, Tractor, Motorcycle Show with several crusies being planned.  The Bunker Hill Run Show is hosted by the Junkyard Dogs, Illiana Antique Car Club, Mustang Club of Danville, Corvette Cruisers of Illinois and the I & I Antique Tractor Club.  Admission is free, but donations will be accepted and used to further the work of the VCCDFoundation and this event.

Other events and activities include food vendors which serve all day, the historic buildings at Bunker Hill and of course the famous Cheeseburger meal served by members of the VCCDFoundation and other volunteers.  The cheeseburger meal includes a delicious hot and juicy cheeseburger, chips and beverage(soft drink, tea, water) for one low price. Proceeds go to the projects of the VCCDFoundation.

The VCCDFoundation will be making the public announcement of the winner of the annual scholarship offered by the Foundation.  Plus, this year is an exciting year for the VCCD and the VCCDFoundation, so expect some surprises and additional activities and events as well.

The entertainment again this year will include the Big Creek Guitar Band, Ryan Ideus and the Feudin' Hillbillys and Captain Rat and the Blind Rivets.  So bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a terrific summer day and evening at the 2012 Cheeseburger and Fun event at Kennekuk!
